Privacy Policy

For the Android app Glitter Jar (package net.groundmass.glitterjar) and its pages on this site. Effective 8 August 2026; revised 17 September 2026.

Who we are

Glitter Jar is published on Google Play by Groundmass LLC (“we”, “us”), and its product page lives on fiddlemint.com. Questions: groundmassllc@gmail.com.

Information the app collects

None. Glitter Jar does not ask for, gather or send your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, photos, files, advertising ID or device identifiers. There is no sign-in, no cloud save, no leaderboard, no chat, and no analytics or crash-reporting SDK. We operate no servers that could receive any of it.

Information the app stores on your device

A save file in the app’s own private storage, holding only:

• Your settings: glitter color, amount, flake size, water, twinkle, theme, music on or off.
• Your collection: which charms you own and how many, which colors are unlocked, which charms are in the jar.
• Your progress toward the next unlock.

None of it is sent to us. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android Settings, deletes it permanently.

Permissions

The app declares three permissions, all of them for Google Play billing, which the optional tip jar and charm pack use:

• com.android.vending.BILLING — to offer a purchase through Google Play.
• INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — required by Google’s billing library so your phone can reach the Play Store.

The app uses them for nothing else. It contacts no servers of ours, because we run none. If you never open the tip jar or the charm pack, it never uses the network at all.

Purchases

The app is free, and everything in it — all 36 charms, all 9 colors, both themes, every setting — unlocks by use alone. Two optional purchases sit in the settings menu: a tip jar, and a seasonal charm pack. Neither unlocks a feature or changes the app.

Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or hold your payment details; Google tells us only that a purchase completed. Google’s own privacy policy covers that transaction.

Backups

Android backs up app data on its own, and Glitter Jar is included, so a copy of your jar may be kept in your Google account as with most apps on your phone. Android does this, not the app. We never see it and cannot reach it. It is why your collection can reappear on a new phone. Turn it off in Settings → Google → Backup, entirely or app by app.

Device motion (shake)

The app reads the motion sensor only to notice a shake or tilt, so it can stir the glitter and aim gravity. This happens on your device, in the moment, and is never recorded, stored or sent.

Sound

The music file ships inside the app. Nothing is streamed, and the app never listens to your microphone.

Advertising and third parties

No advertising of any kind, and no third-party tracking or analytics software. We do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone, for any purpose, including cross-context behavioral advertising — we do not collect it in the first place.

Information Google collects independently

Because the app is distributed through Google Play, Google may collect install and crash information under its own policies, and may show us aggregated, anonymous statistics such as install counts by country. We receive no individual identities and combine it with nothing.

This website

These pages are static files. No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party fonts, scripts or frames; every asset is served from this site. The host may keep standard server logs; we do not use them to identify visitors or build profiles.

Children

Glitter Jar is suitable for everyone, including children. It collects no data from anyone, of any age. It is a relaxation toy, not a medical device, and makes no therapeutic claims.

Your rights and choices

The GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA give you rights to access, correct, delete or port the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to hand over or erase. Your on-device save data is yours: clear the app’s storage or uninstall to delete it. If you believe we hold information about you, write to groundmassllc@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Data retention and security

We operate no servers, databases or backups holding user information, so there is nothing to retain or lose in a breach. Save files stay in the app’s private, sandboxed storage.

Changes to this policy

A revised version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the store listing.
