Privacy Policy
For the Cross Count app for Android and its pages on this site. Effective 26 September 2026.
In short: Cross Count collects nothing about you and can’t go online, so the app never sends us anything. Everything you make is kept on your phone, and in your own Google backup if that’s on.

What we collect
The app collects nothing. It has no account, ads or tracking, and sends no crash reports. It isn’t even allowed to use the internet. We never sell or share anything about you.
If you email us, we use your message only to reply, and delete it if you ask. When you buy the app, Google shows us a few order details.
Your camera and photos
The app may ask for two things, only for your pictures:
- Your camera, to take a picture to chart or a photo of your stitching. Still photos only, and only while that screen is open.
- Your photos, to pick a picture you already have. Android may list this as two permissions, for newer and older phones.
Where your work is kept
Your charts, pictures, progress, photos, notes and settings are kept in the app’s private space. Each picture is kept with its chart and copied into every piece you stitch from it. Big pictures are shrunk. Hidden details, like where a photo was taken, are removed, but the file name is kept.
Charts, projects and backups you save are ordinary files, usually in a Cross Count folder; the app tells you where. If you share one, you share everything in it, such as the picture, progress photos and notes. A backup holds all your projects.
Like most apps, Cross Count may be in Android’s backup to your Google account, so your projects can return on a new phone. Android does this, not us, and we can’t see it. You can turn it off under Backup in your phone’s Settings.
How long it’s kept, and deleting it
Your work stays until you delete it, clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app. If Android’s backup is on, a copy may stay in your Google account. Files you saved outside the app stay until you delete them.
Buying the app
You buy Cross Count once, on Google Play. There’s nothing else to buy. Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy, and may collect install, purchase and crash information. For each sale, Google shows us an order number, your phone model and your country, and sometimes your state, city or postcode. We never see your card details. We may also see crash reports that don’t say who you are.
This website
No cookies and no tracking. Our web host may keep basic visit records, which we don’t use to identify anyone.
Children
Cross Count is fine for all ages. It collects nothing from anyone and has no chat.
Keeping it safe
We run no servers or databases, so we hold none of your projects. On your phone, Android keeps other apps out of Cross Count’s private space.
Your rights
Laws like Europe’s GDPR and California’s CCPA let you see, correct, copy or delete the personal information a company has about you. We sell nothing, and apart from emails you’ve sent us, we hold nothing that says who you are. Email anna@fiddlemint.com with any request and we’ll reply within 30 days.
